BOTTLE ROCKET
Fall 2018, Academic Group Project
The Bottle Rocket project was created in Fall 2018 for AME 309: Fluid Dynamics. In my team of three, I designed, modeled, constructed, and tested a single-stage non-reacting water rocket made from a polyethylene terephthalate bottle with a maximum chamber of 20 oz to reach the highest altitude and slowest landing velocity.
• Used NX solid modeling and surfacing techniques to model the physical rocket
• Performed fiberglass layup on foam male mold
• Performed numerical analysis in MATLAB to determine optimal water to air ratio
• Prototyped physical rocket from CAD design and numerical analysis
