CAD DESIGN AND SIMULATION
Spring 2018 & 2019, Academic Group Projects
This photo showcases the rear suspension and wheels I modeled from technical drawings for my Spring 2018 AME 308: Computer Aided Design course. I became a teaching assistant for this NX course for the Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Fall 2019 semesters.
I used solid modeling techniques, surfacing techniques, fine element analysis, motion analysis, and some GD&T in 2D technical drawings.
The photos below are from the course's final project in which my team of five designed our own parts for the car's front suspension and steering.
Additionally, I modeled a gumball machine in a group of 2 during a SolidWorks course in Spring 2019.
-
Referenced Patent US3937314A to design a coin mechanism
-
Animated exploded views, created motion simulations, created photo-realistic renderings, and determined apparatus capacity.
This course involved background research into the history and material selection for traditional gumball machines, and required my familiarization with a mechanism I previously knew little about. Hover over the pictures below for more information.
