EFFECT OF NOZZLE SHAPE ON TURBULENT JETS
Spring 2019, Academic Group Project
I designed, modeled, and 3D printed shaped nozzle extension attachments for my undergraduate Mechanical Engineering junior project.
• Created in Spring 2019, group of 2
• Wrote a research proposal describing motivations, mathematical formulations, past research in the topic, anticipated procedure, and data collection/analysis methods
• Designed exit cross-sections to have the same hydraulic diameter to account for wetted area to perimeter ratio
• 3D printed nozzles in the undergraduate fabrication laboratory
• Performed data analysis in MATLAB and Excel
• Presented findings to Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering faculty and teaching assistants
